Phantom Blade Zero release date

The short answer

Oct 29, 2026. Some sources write that same day out as 29 October 2026; it is the same date. It is what S-GAME's own site prints, what the launch letter signed by the creative director prints, what the official account prints and what the PlayStation Store listing prints. The PlayStation Store also gives an unlock time: 02:00 AM UTC on 29 October.

The one-day disagreement. Steam's store page still prints Oct 28, 2026. Both readings are first-party. We list both, with the page and the date we read it, and we do not pick one for you.

Two things are worth noticing in that table. The first is that the disagreement is not between the publisher and a news site — it is inside the publisher's own distribution. The second is that four separate first-party surfaces agree with each other on 29 October, and the storefront label is the only one that reads 28. That is why the main answer above is 29 October and why 28 October is still printed in full rather than dropped.

The move from 9 September is worth stating plainly because it is the reason this page exists at all: a game that has already slipped once deserves a dated record rather than a single number. The interval between 6 August and the launch is the part that matters for planning — development being called complete six weeks before release is a fact about schedule, not a promise about quality.

This page changes if: S-GAME issues a further scheduling statement. Re-checked 2026-09-17.

The launch window, honestly

  • The store that gives the most precision is the PlayStation Store, and what it gives is an unlock timestamp rather than a date: 02:00 AM UTC on 29 October.
  • Pre-orders have been open since 11 August 2026 on the storefronts the publisher names.
  • No early-access window, no pre-load date and no regional unlock ladder has been announced by any first-party channel.

Is there a demo?

No demo has been announced. That answer is about announcements, not about possibility, and it is worth spelling out what stands behind it:

  • The publisher's own site, the Steam page and the PlayStation Store all offer pre-order only. None of them offers a demo or a trial.
  • The newest first-party announcement on Steam is dated 2026-08-13 and it is the pre-order notice. The only other first-party posts are the launch letter of 2026-06-03 and two from December 2025.
  • A community thread's title claims a public demo is coming. We could not read the body of that thread — the page returned a network-security block and only the title survived our read. A title is not an announcement, and no first-party channel repeats the claim.

So the status of a demo is: not announced, with a community lead at title level that we could not verify. If you see a demo listed somewhere, the thing to check is whether the listing is on the publisher's own site or on a first-party store page.

Separately, journalists have played the game. Hands-on sessions at Gamescom LATAM 2026 and Summer Game Fest were press and event builds, written up in June 2026 — those are real playable builds, but they were not public downloads and they are not a demo announcement.

What this page does not claim

  • It does not claim 29 October is the only correct date, and it does not call Steam's label an error. Steam may correct it, and if it does, this page will record the correction rather than quietly drop the old line.
  • It does not claim a demo is impossible. It claims none has been announced.
  • It does not claim an unlock time for any platform other than the one the PlayStation Store prints.
  • It does not estimate a delay, a further move or a release-window change. Nothing in the sources supports one.
