Phantom Blade Zero

S-GAME's dark wuxia action RPG, built on Unreal Engine 5 for PlayStation 5 and Windows: third-person martial-arts combat, four difficulty settings and eight endings. Pre-orders are open ahead of the October 2026 launch, and both first-party release dates on record are listed on this page.

Overview

A wuxia action RPG wearing a punk skeleton

S-GAME calls the look kungfupunk: martial arts, cold steel, mechanical prosthetics, crumbling industrial ruins, traditional Chinese aesthetics and modern rock music, in one dark register. Confirmed2026-09-17S-GAME site copy

Combat

Third-person melee. Soul carries two primary weapons and two secondary weapons; each blade has a power-surge ultimate, while Phantom Edges cover cannons, lances, axes and hammers taken from fallen foes. Defence is block, parry or dodge, and enemy attacks are colour-coded: brutal moves drain sha-chi heavily when blocked, killer moves cannot be blocked or parried at all. Parry a brutal move, or dodge a killer move on the last frame, and a ghostep puts you behind the enemy. Source2026-09-17Wikipedia

Scope

A semi-open world whose regions connect seamlessly; some are unreachable at first and open up later through non-linear routes and weapons acquired elsewhere. Main quests follow Soul, side quests carry multiple outcomes, and those outcomes resolve the story into eight distinct endings. There is a skill tree, weapon upgrading that consumes materials, and reforging that recovers them. Source2026-09-17Wikipedia

Difficulty

Four settings ship with the game: Wayfarer, Pathbreaker, Hellwalker, where enemy AI is more adaptive, and 66 Days, which is Hellwalker plus permadeath once the death counter runs down from 66. New Game Plus unlocks after a first completion. Source2026-09-17Wikipedia

Quick Answers

What people ask before buying

Is Phantom Blade Zero the same game as Phantom Blade or Phantom Blade: Executioners?

No. Phantom Blade Zero is a new entry in the same Phantom Blade series, not a remake or a renamed re-release. The series began with the Rainblood titles, continued through Phantom Blade 1 to 3 on mobile and Phantom Blade: Executioners, and the studio says Zero follows a new story that requires no knowledge of the earlier games.

When does Phantom Blade Zero come out?

29 October 2026, per S-GAME's own site, its Steam launch letter and the PlayStation Store listing. Steam's store page still prints Oct 28, 2026, and the PlayStation Store adds an unlock time of 02:00 AM UTC on 29 October. Both dates are first-party, so we show both instead of picking one.

Is Phantom Blade Zero a soulslike?

S-GAME calls it an action RPG, and the official site never uses the soulslike label. Steam lists its genres as Action and RPG, and the game ships with four selectable difficulty settings including a permadeath mode, so the challenge is adjustable rather than fixed.

How much does Phantom Blade Zero cost?

$59.99 for the Standard Edition and $69.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition, the same on the PlayStation Store and Steam in the US. The Epic Games Store page linked from S-GAME's site could not be read on 2026-09-17, so its price is listed as not published rather than estimated.

Will Phantom Blade Zero get a physical edition?

Nothing has been announced. S-GAME's site links five digital storefronts and no disc SKU, the PlayStation Store sells two digital editions, and Steam is digital-only. An import retailer listed a PS5 version and then withdrew it, and its support said it could not confirm whether a physical release would happen. Some third-party coverage mentions a physical Collector's Edition; no first-party channel lists one.

Is Phantom Blade Zero coming to Xbox?

No Xbox version has been announced. S-GAME's site names Epic Games, PS5, Steam, WeGame and TapTap PC, while the PlayStation Store and Steam list PS5 and Windows. A console-exclusivity window for PS5 has been reported, but we found no first-party statement of its length, so we treat the window as unconfirmed.

Is there a Phantom Blade Zero demo?

No. S-GAME's site, the Steam page and the PlayStation Store all offer pre-order only. The newest first-party announcement on Steam is dated 2026-08-13 and it is the pre-order notice; the only other first-party posts are the 2026-06-03 launch letter and two from December 2025. A community thread claims a public demo is coming, but we could not read its body and no first-party channel repeats the claim.

Does Phantom Blade Zero have co-op or multiplayer?

No. Steam lists it as Single-player only and the PlayStation Store shows 1 player. No co-op, PvP or online mode has been announced.
